I just bought a 46RE. Was supposed to be an RH but it I bought it anyway. I've been doing some interwebbing and what makes sense one minute, seems confusing the next.

From what I've gleaned, the RE is different than the RH in that there are no governors or hydraulics in the OD unit. Correct?

So if I were to go with a full manual valve body (which I would prefer anyway), all that would be needed is a way to control the OD and lockup if my thinking is correct. I know of the Hobbs switch method of controlling the RH, but is it possible to do the same with the RE to control the OD and lockup at that point?

All you actually need bare bones for lockup and OD is two switches. So take it from there. There used to be an online deal about hooking up Hobbs switches. Greg runs one I'll think of his user name here in awhile.

Somebody, allegedly makes a MVB kit and complete VB. Transgo makes a shift kit that SOUNDS as if it would work to me. You cannot use a 727 VB or shift kit

I know Cope has a manual and a transbrake valve body available, but they are spendy. I was planning on a TransGo kit. Switches are the fall back, but some sort of automatic function would be better. I wouldn't want to forget it was in OD or lockup during some excited downshifting.

I went with the Transgo manual kit in my Dakota and then just wired in a couple switches for the Od and lockup. Works good for what I use the truck for.

Trailbeast was the user name I was trying to think of
