Well after almost 4 years of ownership my duster is off to Pottstown Pa. I will miss it! Picking up a 72 swinger 440/727 that I got the chance to buy from a friend. It was built by and very good friend years ago and he’s since passed. It’ll be cool to have one of his old cars! Getting it tonight.

Power brakes and AC, does it also have power steering?

Condolences for the loss of your friend and the Duster. There's going to be a special angel giving you pointers when you really put the wood to that 440 :steering:. Darn fine lookin' Hot Rod .

Nice car! I want to say it's the same one I have seen in Saint Peter a few times. Either way, have a blast driving it.

Kind of sad to see the 340 Duster Go.

Time to turn the page, got a nice one coming your way now.

Nice keeping one of your friends cars close. It looks well done!
Thanks! Yes I’m glad I was able to make it work. The duster sold in mere hours. I was surprised! Yeah Dan (my buddy) wanted to make it look as factory as he could and really other than the air cleaner got it pretty damn close! I had a 68 GTS he built about 17 years ago, I bought that and he flew to Texas and drove this home and pulled it apart and built it as it is now. I’ve been trying to find my old 68 with no luck since he passed away about 3 1/2 years ago. Glad this one kinda fell into my lap. Sorry for the long story! Lol.

Very nice dart I love the color! And a big block to boot! Awesome. That duster sure is sweet too that's gotta be hard to watch drive away!
Congratulations on the new one that's a sweet ride!

Oh man! I love that swap, especially with the AC! And a V2 compressor, too cool!!!! Beautiful car!

Hmm hard to say if it is the same one? It has been stored the last 3 years but maybe before that?
Thanks!

How did he use cast iron exhaust manifolds with a 440? I thought that was a no-go? And power steering?

I've wanted to build the '73 Duster I have with a 400 like Mopar would have if they had offered a 400 in a Duster of that year. But I've heard that the B motor is just ok with cast iron manifolds and a 440 was impossible.

Just saw the 440 Dart tonight. It is really close on the passenger exhaust and the engine side pan, like feeler gauge close like .010 ths.

It is close.

Driver side fit well. Not sure what the maniflolds came off of to fit that 440 in an A body ??

I wish I could ask him! He built the car about 17 years ago and as I said he wanted to make it look as if the factory built it, I believe the manifolds are off of a B body if I recall. it is very close on the passenger side but it works! Very fun car took it out tonight to the first car meet and had lots of people asking questions about it! LOL. It was pretty cool.
