Hello all!! Grab a beer & a comfy chair. This is my story. I purchased a 3rd owner 69 Dart GTS 340-4sp in about 1972. I drove the car & my wife also drove it to nurses training until about 75. I was racing motocross at the time & needed some way to haul the motorcycle. My brother had a van so we made a deal & traded. He drove the car for several more years & was not very gentle to it. Of course I was always gentle to it. Ya right! Clutch was out, transmission was messed up, fuel tank had a big hole punched in it from backing over a fence post. So he parked it in a garage. He moved several times & towed it each time. He was always fortunate to have a garage to keep it in. Years later I told him if he ever wanted to sell it, I would like first chance at it. So fast forward about 25 years. I get a call one day & he said he wants to sell. He was going thru a divorce at the time & needed some money. So we made a deal again & I got the car back! I pulled the motor, bored, turned the crank, new valves & seats, etc. New carpet, new upholstery, etc. I made a very, very poor attempt to replace both rear quarter panels. Got frustrated & lost interest. Fast forward another 25 years. I found a person who was willing to attempt to straighten out my mess. So here we are now. Stripped the car, sent it to the sandblaster, put it on a rotisserie replaced the rear floor pans, trunk pan, outer wheel wells, etc. So here we are now. Waiting to get the new white vinyl top & headliner. lGetting excited!!
