Here's a tip for removing a broken stud, I see you have a welder... Weld a washer to the stud, weld a nut to the washer, a few squirts of PB Blaster while still hot from welding and hit it with an impact. If the nut doesn't break off the stud should wind out, if the nut breaks repeat first few steps. Usually pretty good result. Beats drilling and re taping.

back to recent. Trunk is ready for primer and paint. Next is to pull the engine, dress it up, and clean up engine bay rust.

Large success.. followed by a few failures. Chasing an overheating issue, I discovered the head gasket was not gasketting.. So I spent a couple of hours yesterday getting the head off... EASY!! My last head gasket job was a BMW 323... I went in to this knowing that it had a broken exhaust stud, but I didn't know that the gasket was also blown out. That should seal up real nice when I'm done! I broke one of the long bolts attaching the intake to exhaust manifold, which lead to the decision to pull the manifolds apart... and in doing that, Broke the others as well. this seems common with these manifolds. The unfortunate thing is that trying to drill them out didn't work really well. the casting seems softer than the bolts and caused the bit to wander. My solution will be to weld a stud on top for the middle bolt. then do my best at bolting the outside together with my crooked holes... more to come.

It feels good to be this far... the car is 100% metal again (except for some areas in the engine bay, but that's the next stage) made a couple of mistakes, spilled $30 worth of pain, found out my compressor is not powerful enough, but I finally got the first coat of 2K on.

Wait til you see what color I picked ;)

Color change time or going the same color?
Ya know primer is finer. Put a go wing, and a hood scoop on it, add some mags. Call it a day.
 
I really admire you for just jumping in and cuttin that thing all to pieces. Even more so for putting it back together so well.
 
not perfect.. but i'm VERY satisfied. It will need some clean up and buff, but I dont want to take it too far as I want to use this car and not worry about it too much.

The next stage will be painting the trunk, and then the engine bay which will require some patching on the drivers frame rail. I cant wait to have a freshly painted /6 sitting in a freshly painted engine bay!

I'd hunt down some 15x7 chrysler fifth ave steelies for this car, paint em black with chrome lug nuts and put some aggressive black wall tires on em. Unless this car is small bolt pattern, in which case you can find custom wheels to fit, but this pattern is harder to find wheels for.
 
almost usable again!

I had a lot of issues with new door pins. The little bushings were too small for the passenger side, and too big by about 4mm on the drivers side. made it work for now but that will need to be figured out. I need to source some corporate blue for the engine for when I pull that out to paint the engine bay, but before then I need to find a passenger side tail light bezel as most of the studs were broken.

You can get the fender side lights new from rock auto. Look for fronts off 1990-1993 dodge pickup, and rears off 78-91 dodge omni plymouth horizon.
