Long story short, pulled the 318 out of the car 15 years ago. Engine is long gone and now have a 340 to go in. The 340 has the brackets bolted on but I don't have the rubber cushions. I am posting pics of the mounts as well as a pic of a rubber mount I found online. Is this what I need to mount the engine in the car?
Thanks-
Claude

Yea that look like the correct biscuit type mount, if they are the cheap ones your 340 will rip it apart.
Yea I know for sure!

I used the poly loc mounts from Schumacher, but then I used the whole mount kit they sell. I have a 360 mag in a 65 Cuda.

Sorry, but from what I see those are later model engine brackets that you have, not the early A ('66 and earlier) ones that you NEED for your '66. Schumacher had a kit, but seems to be out of stock with no end in sight. So you need to get some early A brackets for the 273 and make one mod to fit them to the 340 (not hard, and plenty of how-to threads on here about this...).
My apologies to valiantwagonguy, I stole the picture here from his for sale thread to illustrate what you need to look for. And yes, his picture also shows the CORRECT original style rubber insulators, too. If your local parts store can't/won't get them, Rock Auto has 'em.

And if you're really worried about tearing apart the rubber insulator with that 340, use a mid '80s truck insulator with the interlocking metal tabs. Won't/can't separate, same overall thickness as the early A mount. Dirt cheap. Rock Auto picture.

Are the pass. side of the 67-69 a-bodies 318/340's brackets the same? The drivers side is different I see. What about the 65-66 273's what is the best brackets to use. I remember using the 273's but I had to switch them around somehow.

Not sure I totally understand your question, but, the best 273 engine brackets to use, are the ones for your year and body style (A-body I presume?)

When using the right 273 mount on a 340 you cut 1 ear off the back of the mount and weld it to the front or just make a new ear t weld on. The left mount you just need a couple washers to space it from the ear.

To answer your first question....yes, at least in '68-9, the 318 and 340 used the same passenger side engine mount bracket. Still need to know what you're asking in your 2nd question. Are you asking what engine brackets to use on a 340 in a '65-6 A-body? 273 in place of a 340? In some other body type?

Are the engine brackets still in the car from the 318? If so, they are likely ones you can use with minor modification.

Hi guys. First I have a 69 Cuda original 318 now 340 and mounts don’t fit correctly and I really don’t know what they are from but was wondering log 318 and 340 are the same. 2nd replacing a 66 dart 273 with a 340 and going to using TTI headers

'69 Barracudas and '66 Darts are two different animals as far as engine mounting goes. You'll get more help by starting your own threads instead of saddling on someone else's, one in the Early A Body forum for your '66 and one in the Small Block Mopar forum for the '69.
But first, use SEARCH in each of those forums, as these questions have been asked hundreds of times and your answers/solutions are already well documented- as a matter of fact, the answer to the '66 is above.

I'm sorry I saddled on someones thread. I was just reading the thread and had a couple of questions. I'll go elsewhere. And thanks for all the answers.

Don't be sorry, I just meant you'll get more attention and answers with a fresh thread. Good luck!

Needs to make yourself a little adaptation to your drivers side mount, but you should be using the early V8 metal brackets.
