and I will start by saying I have used RockAuto for years but I just bought two rear quarter panels for my swinger advertised as 70 Dart quarters, when they arrived they were for a duster . after paying $30 to return them they refunded me $51 to my account on a $210 order. Now I'm wasting my day trying to get my money back with no customer service phone. I have navigated their return policy site with little prevail. I will be charging them back through my bank! Just a heads up.​
 
I agree with Karl. Someone here would of bought them. It really is too bad that the world has come to this. No one takes responsibility for their actions. Kim
 
You shudda just kept the quarter panels... 8 to $30 and shipping :rolleyes:
I guess so LOL it seemed pretty straightforward, they sent me the wrong part I did what they asked i ate the shipping but appears that wasn't enough hosing.

They always find more ways to charge you money when you return stuff... You get stuck paying the return shipping - WTF???? :wtf:

Then they want to charge "restocking fees", so they end up keeping half of your money and you get nothing and are out half your money.... :icon_fU:

I ordered a motor mount for my /6 B-body. They sent me a /6 A-body mount instead. Sent it back, said that is the one listed. I found my spare and found an NOS one just as a back up.
 
I used to think this was a pretty good place, now I hear more and more bad. Not having good customer response is a "biggie." In a long ago previous life I sold auto parts for about 16-17 years at two different outfits. Frankly I cannot imagine trying to deal auto parts by mail and coming out in the percentages.
 
This is why I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS pay with Paypal.
 
I hate rock auto. they struck out with me all three times on my first and only order.

This is why I like to go to my local parts store, so I can inspect the parts to make sure that they are the correct ones before I hand over any money...
 
I had many years of good service. The one time (recently) they screwed up, so-callled "customer service" was so bad, I'm done with them. Too many other places to buy parts. Now I use their look-up, and buy elsewhere.
 
I will still probably use RockAuto for small, ome and fairly inexpensive parts as their prices are hard to beat and I have been satisfied with their parts in the past. But be forewarned on larger and expensive parts that returns can be a nightmare.

i ordered a couple of things from wallieworld the other day (2 shirts, a light fixture and and a few bottles of hotsauce)
made it to just over $35 so it came with the free shipping

then i got the email that line items 1 and 3 had shipped, and all 4 ended up getting shipped from different places (and 3 of em have gotten delivered in the mean time)

BUT since i got past $35 i never paid and shipping

You bought 2 x 1/4 panels for $210 total? Was the part number they had them listed at the part nuber you received. I have had a couple of instances where there part numbers were wrong and the right caliper was really a left when ordered. After getting the wrong one3 times I killed the order and ordered the wrong side and I got the right part. There customer service is non existent. To bad cause the company can be so much better.
 
Yes the part number I ordered is what I received. The picture didn't look quite right but the quarter panel patches we're about $60 cheaper than any other I could find. I kind of went out on a limb when I ordered them but I never dreamed sending them back would be such a pain in the ***. They still owe me about $90. I am still working on it and may be getting closer to some resolution, but the whole deal kind of showered me. I guess I'm spoiled because I usually work with Jegs or Summit
 
i ordered both motor mounts for my 74 /6.
the mounts are the same but the hole in the bushing is way too big so i just gave up and now they sit in the back of a bench waiting to be sorted out one day.
same part number that many people have said should work so i have no clue what went wrong.
