My switch crapped out, part #2820408. I'm guessing I won't find one so I'm looking for a replacement SPDT momentary switch I can replace it with. My circuit breaker is still usable.

I had that problem in the rear window of my 65 valiant station (same switch) and just went to the auto parts store and got a momentary toggle switch. It fit right in and even looked the same cost under 10 bucks perhaps even less than 5

Start a wanted thread and find a nice used one.

$35 for a $5 switch? Not going to happen.
If you read the info. it is not a $5 switch . If you read the Details fully it's designed for high 50 amp rating. What cost is it to rebuild $5 ? Just a fix now suggestion to OP. Highly unlikely he'll find a good used one for sale .Rebuilt with shipping would be how much ? Just saying .

I ain't paying no fifty cents for no coke...

Then you ain't getting no coke....

You can have JS rebuild it or look for one. They are out, hard to find, took me a couple months. They are usually around $150.

You could use a lesser switch like newer vehicles have if you install relays to handle the high current like those newer vehicles have. Total cost would likely be more than the proper type switch with a new circuit breaker too.
93 Lebarron had a nice little back lighted switch but it was mounted in the console so we could spill coffee, etc.. on/in it. $5 wont buy it either.

What does the switch look like? Depend on the level of restoring, the relay would be the best idea.

Here ya go. Relay attaches to the switch. I'd taken it apart to show someone the part number location. That's the TOP bezel showing right behind the toggle. And yes the bezel is upside down.

That is a cycling circuit breaker mounted with this switch.
Clearly not enough coffee when I made my post early this morning.
I'm glad Redfish followed with the correct breaker description...relay I was WAY off...LOL!!
He's one of the smartest electrical guys we have in here!!

The OP is one of the smartest electrical guys on here. Been at it in one fashion or another for much longer than I've known him, and that's been 37 years...

Thanks, but I won't mention what the other Jim and I did trying to get trailer lights working on his Dodge van...80 years of electronics experience between us...We had a good laugh at ourselves...It was when he was picking up the '68 Barracuda convertible...

Ok guys I found a nice switch at Riebes Auto parts, made out of metal instead of the plastic one they tried to sell me. Anyhow, it's rated at 20amps/125 VAC so it can handle the current. I used the breaker from the old switch and epoxied it to the new one. There was plenty of room for my new terminal connections (I crimped and soldered them). Anyhow, it's working great now all for about 12 bucks. Thanks for the replies!!!
