What Is This Relay For?

I was just wondering if possibly someone left a door ajar all night & possibly that caused it?
 
Could be, had to that last year after seeming a hurricane to dry out carpet, unhooked the battery first before setting the dehumidifier and fans up.
 
Thought it was cool the info led me back here to A-bodies. Good site this is!
 
The only thing is, the buzzer only works in key off with headlights on and door open. Seems like the Old TSB Matt posted a year ago nails it though!

I think he did!! Another question. What makes the key light work?
 
A small thermal relay. It heats up on door open and the longer the door is open the hotter it gets and the lamp stays on longer. Part #?, still available in local stores and used into the mid 90’s. Here is a pic, It is called ingnition lamp delay relay. Sorry I don’t have the number on the top of head at the moment. Search the site and by post by me and you find the part number.
