AERA webinar
these are the ones I've used for years
there was a learning curve
cutters, coolants, etc
of course nickel based seats have their own requirements as do berrillium
and there are some new coper infused berrullium alternatives

I stopped using BC seats in 1999 and switched nickel bronze or something Kibblewhite makes. Same price, better machine-ability and not carcinogenic.

There may be better out there now than what Kibblewhite had then, but it won’t be BC. They don’t cut, they smear. The tool bit needs different geometry and it’s only good for BC. Because the materiel isn’t so soft it plows up in front of the cutter and then as the cutter passes it leaves the seat out of round. I just HATE BC seats.

BTW, I signed up for the seminar. I’ve used thousands of powered metal seats. As long as the cutter was sharp and you didn’t crowd the tooling it machined fine for me. I had a relatively rigid machine most of the time.

I still prefer ductile iron seats for steel valves in racing junk. More money but dang do they machine nice.
