What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?
Ditching weight where I can in the quest for as low an ET and MPH as I can get with the engine I have (before resorting to more drastic measures) while clinging to some semblance of stock appearances and minimalist creature comfort functions. In the process of replacing door glass, regulators etc. and going the old 68 Super Stock route with seatbelt webbing and snaps for raising/lowering the side plexiglass. Using Optix Green Edge (.177” thick) as when finished it looks just like tempered glass (and more rigid than .125” poly/plexi) but still with a reduction of slightly more than half the weight. Bent up some .063” aluminum for improvised window clips and sourced some bulk 2” seat belt material. Just waiting on some belt line and channel weatherstripping to arrive then reassemble. This phase (along with other minor mods) will yield about a 30lb weight reduction, with more planned. :)
