What’s everyone using for a master cylinder when they convert to 4 wheel discs. Do I have to change the splitter valve or whatever it’s called down on the frame. Do I need an adjustable prop valve. This is on a 73 Cuda with power brakes. Altercation with Wilwoods on the front. They put a new factory booster and master cylinder on it a month ago when it was restored. Now I get to work the bugs out of the whole car. Thanks. Kim

I have DoctorDiff’s 15/16” master cylinder on my Duster with his 13” cobra style disks on the front and the 11.7” disks on the back, I think it works great. Mine is manual though, I pull all the original power boosters off and get rid of that squishy brake feel.

You can probably run them with the stock distribution block, I have an adjustable valve on mine but it’s almost wide open. It depends on your suspension and tire set up but usually even just the distribution block is “in the ballpark”. But to really get it right I would plan on some kind of adjustable valve. I replaced the whole original combination valve with an aftermarket combo valve with a built in adjuster.

When i rebuilt the duster, i ordered everything from Dr Diff. He set me up with a new proportioning valve and correct bore size master cylinder for a disc drum car. At least give him a call and see what he recommends for a 4 wheel disc car, the bore size may be way different?

Thanks. I can’t remember what size the brakes that are either end. The body guy doing the restoring got all hard lines. Booster and master cause he knows. Barely any brakes. Low mushy pedal. I told him to go with the hydroboost but that didn’t happen. Kim

I had the hydro boost system all picked out but the body guy changed a lot of things on the build. Now I get to make it right. Kim

I run the SSBC 4 piston front kit with Dr Diff 11.7" rear kit. It worked ok with the SSBC master and stock prop valve, however over the winter I went with the Dr Diff 15/16" bore master and the Summit branded version of the Wilwood combination/adjustable prop valve. I run the prop valve just about wide open as well, but the braking is very good in the car now.
