One of my upper control arm mounts was badly rusted and needed replacing. I ordered the new mounts from Classic and set about fitting them after cutting the old ones out and ran into some problems.

Has anyone done this?

I'm wondering if the inside the frame supports need to be cut down as mine seem to be sitting too high with them still in place.

Yep, definitely need pictures to see what you are working with.

I had the same problem. I just sistered some metal in and welded it up. Not the prettiest, but very functional.

I also had the same problem. I had a certified welder come over & we measured the other side multiple times before he tacked the tabs in. We remeasured gain to make sure it was in the correct position & welded it up. I took it to be aligned & everything came up aces. I sold the car a few years ago & it's still on the road with no residual problems.

The fabricated mount that Classic Industries sells seems to be sitting too high on the supports that are inside the frame.

Did any of you use these? I'm curious if anyone else had to remove them to get the mount to fit.

Well, I finally quit dragging my heels and finished welding in those replacement mounts. Worked out pretty well, but what a major pita!

A little FYI for you guys. When taking your measurements to locate your replacement mounts, make sure you use an area that isn't about to be ground away when you remove the old stuff. Lol
