Best way to get around a broken inside release latch

I was riding out to a patrol insertion site in the back of a 2.5T truck and we hit a "speed bump" in the road. Dark as hell we stopped and hopped out to see what it was and it was a 20 foot black and brown Philippine Python that was about a foot in girth, spanned the whole 2 lane road. That was a long night in the jungle......I must see 5 black widows a day out here in So. Cal. Never been bit. knock knock...you SEC guys roaming junkyards full of snakes....no thanks!
