OK. Dealing with the approaching end to my 14 yr old Shepherd. She got bad hips and recently had a front ankle swell up bad. Can hardly walk on it. Vet this morning said try a steroid for 10 days and see if it gets her walking again.. Else it's time to go nite-nite.. View attachment 1715577525
That sucks... We had one that was Dobi/Shepard mix. She did great till near 15. Then it was just like her back end muscle/joints went to crap within a very short time. Could barely stand up, let alone do a few steps. :(
At that age you cant do much with the hips . As long as her back end will still support her, hopefully the ankle will improve and can keep her mobile and not in pain for a while...
