One of my ESPO leaf spring shackles broke off. Don't know how as the shackles are new (2 months old) and the car has not been driven a lot since install. Anyway I ordered 2 new shackles from online (AC Delco) just in case ESPO might have another bad one lurking in the pile. To my surprise they are the same in every dimension except for width. Should I be good to go or is this going to cause me a problems?

The one on the right in the top photo looks heavier. If you are concerned about strength I wouldn't use the ones on the left. The threaded end broke off. Probably over tightened.

Something I did recently that you may find useful...I had two full sets of a-body shackles, and on all four the pins were so rusty I couldn't use them. But the "dogbone" plates were fine. I drilled out the dogbone holes to 1/2" and dropped in grade 8, 1/2" shoulder bolts 4.5" long and made new shackles. I suppose you could get fancy and tack the bolt heads on one side.

I'm using poly bushings, I've driven the car once since then and it sounded and felt alright. Its really no different than using adjustable shackles.

I thought about doing that. I went to the hardware store and had everything in my hand. Then my wife asked me to order a set. I'm sure she had visions of me screwing something up and damaging the car.
