Should be in the mid 7’s based on the weight.JMO! What Gear?

I wasn't aware it was a manual transmission. lol

4.11 It's just a 318, with stock 318 pistons, rods, crank, and block. Stock 318 heads that were home ported. 850 DP and roller cam.

Well just like that he’s putting all those naysayers in their place. Funny how a little bit of test and tune using the KISS method can get you decent/desired results. Nothing fancy about it.

Want ET?

I got whipped by a 318 “2” barrel B body often enough in the late 80’s. Solid cam car and was lightened up and had 5.30 gears he got from me second hand. No “NOS” and was extremely consistent in his times. Mid 7’s.

His car hooked hard in 60ft and dumped me every time. I was running 4.56.

He was running Slicks and me street radials. The Old Protrac Street legal version from the 80’s. Was trying to hang in with the pro class. Bad idea in the long run for a street driven car!

His was open headers, My 383 292/509 was full factory cast iron exhaust with a 150 NOS shot and full interior.

Same size tires Ultimately. He ran out around 88 or so when I ran out mid to high 90’s due to tire spin and heavy foot.

Every thing is in that first 30/60’ . Work on that If you want lower ET!!!

318’s Can be damn good bracket cars as witnessed by me! Good luck with it and wish you the best!

Tony Perez was the owner/Driver and a damn good bracket racer in North Florida!

he is a member, though hasn't been logged in for a long time. Whitepunkonitro is his user name
That was him? Single handedly the most annoying sales person in here for a long time. He’s the first one I could remember alway bumping his over priced parts every single day. So many threads with people complaining about it and wanting mods to do something.

If only that OD 4speed didn't have that huge RPM drop from 1st to 2nd...
Agree. His entire purpose of the build was to take everything that nobody wants or considers junk and run it. Thus the 300 dollar 4 door '73, points distributor, 318 with 318 heads, OD 4 speed, and the 8.25 rear end. I personally love roadkill builds that's why I'm enjoying bottle rocket. LOL
8.8's in the 1/8 would be high 13's ? should be....

Nothing wrong with low buck. I've been a fan of using what ya got !

Putting naysayers in there place? That's a bit of a stretch. He said it was gonna run 10s in the 1/4 with some NOS. High 1/8s in a 3000lb car isnt difficult, I did that 20 years ago with a 3:23 open rear in a street duster, 318
