The car I have now is going thru an interior re-furnish. It has Rattle trap on the floors. I did not know it was there until we removed the carpet. The bench seat is going bye bye and I was getting the car ready to install sub frame connectors. I’m concerned the rattle trap is going to be an ordeal to remove and I don’t want it to catch fire or be in the way of welding in the bucket seat reinforcement tabs or the sub frame connectors

any thoughts or ideas before I dive in much further!

Trim the stuff & peel it off an inch away from where you will be welding in the connectors. Work smart, not hard. LOL

I wouldn't sweat it. I plan on welding in frame connectors on my car. As long as you don't concentrate welding on one location long, you won't have an issue. Buzz one side one spot, move to the other side, Rinse and repeat. Stop and let things cool if you need to. I don't think you'll have any issues.

Cool beans on the info. I have the 70 buckets already done. $$$. All I lack is the bucket seat mounting brackets

The 72 bench seats in this car is very nice and are very comfortable. I am going to miss them because the buckets are not as soft.
