Not sure If you're going to make it out again this year. I will miss this Sunday but next Sunday I'll be there for sure!

Cley

Cley, sad to say I’m done for the season. Slicks are toast. Zero passes left in them.

There's always next year!

Cley

I am tempted to put some real gears and slicks on my car to see if it would run like it should , but don`t want to spend money on something to race once a yr. at the mopar meet .
You guys car rock !

@Walker434
Now that's some mean track shifting !
Steering column shifter ? 1st, 2nd, drive. I don't know how you don't miss gears, no overriding from 1st to 3rd and paying attention to that shifter.
HATS OFF TO YOU, SIR.

MAPS, thanks a lot but I have to admit, the quickest the car went with the column shift was 10.99. After that I smoked that transmission and ended up with a CRT racing 904 with reverse manual valve body. I ended up moving to a Hurst Quarter Stick when I put that transmission in. It was a handful column shifting at 10.99 I can only imagine trying to shift it like that at 10.0s!

update from last weekend, i took off the 950 Holley and installed a Ron's Flying Toilet methanol system. after a day of tuning, i got a new personal best, 10.20 @ 130 mph

UPDATE:
New motor that I built for my Barracuda:

· 360 block, 4” Scat forged crank, Scat I-beams, Icon forged flat top pistons

· Ported Edelbrocks, 57cc, Hughes solid 264/268 @ 0.050, Howards oil through lifters

· 13:1 compression, “750” e85 carb built by me (could use more, but that is what I have), Victor intake

· 727 w/ manual valve body, 8” converter, 4.10 gear, 3200# Barracuda

First race (1/8th mile) with it ran 6.59 on the brakes (would have been a 6.58) in bad air. Will go faster soon…should get in the 6.4x’s. Driven too and from the track…because I like to be stressed out :p
Sorta got a new best (considering the bad air)...The car ran 10.38 @ 129 hitting the rev limiter just before the stripe in 3400' warm humid air (this was key...it has run 30's before, but the air was much better then). This makes me really exited for the fall...I believe it will run a 10.1-10.0 in good air :)

@Walker434
Regardless of where it is now, if you were able to run 10s with a tree shifter, my hat is off to you sir.
It sure "looks" nicer now and the shifter is much better for you.
All the best with your machine.

All these 10 second cars are a joy to read about, let alone learn about.
