Working on sorting out the drivetrain on my Toad and working on getting the clutch linkage setup today and have a couple of questions.
First the overcenter spring; I see for 63 and up but I cannot find any info on the early models.

This is what I have...

This is what I am used to seeing online...

I don't see any holes for the spring clip and there is no spring either (although that doesn't mean much as I was missing a lot of these pieces as it was a previous push button auto car).
Am I missing the spring? And if so where is the attachment point?

Secondly, the pics aren't great but I have what appears to be an after market clutch.
Any chance someone can ID it? Trans is a A903 3-speed.

Sorry it was dark when I took this pic.

Ian, it looks like a spring was in the hole closest to the pedal side, you can see a small wear mark on one side. The 60-61 cars were quite different so I am guessing it had a slightly different set up. If a 62 up spring is close on length, could you drill a couple of holes to mount the spring hook?
Can't tell on the clutch builder, but I would think any 9.5 clutch assembly would replace the unit for stock use.

I have a spring out of a 66 Valiant manual trans but no spring clip although I could bend one up if needed.
May have to pill the pedal assembly out and drill holes as you mentioned.
Wish I could find pics on the interweb to help me out.

You might look to see if MyMopar has a parts manual that year. Some of those are really poor quality tho

Well I went ahead and pulled out the pedal hanger and made up my own spring clip from a leftover sun visor that I had bought to pirate the Homelink out of.
The over center spring came from a 66 Valiant at the local PnP (by the time I figured I needed the clip it had been taken along with the pedal assembly).
I cleaned it up later with a file to remove any rough edges.

Now time to work on the clutch rod; as it sits in the car it is way too high which is OK since the spring sets on the connector as you can see.
