This is my wife's Barracuda. She always wanted one, so I got her one in small pieces
Just got it off the trailer and got all parts inside, car has been in boxes for almost 40 years, so I don't expect everything to be there. I have doubles of a lot of things, previous owner bought lots of stuff from a crashed Barracuda. It has a 273 that been completely redone by a shop, 030 bore everything new, even cam, valve springs, valves, lifters, rods. Transmission is a 904, also redone by the same shop, got receipts for all new parts.

Most rust is fixed by previous owner, I will touch up some of the welds and there is only a small rust hole in one fender to fix, and maybe I'll fins some more smaller fixes. Fenders are from a Valiant (so I'm missing the fender emblems). Windshield is missing, other than that all parts is supposed to be there.
No power steering or brakes, I got a power steering box and a pump with it, not sure if it fits the car. Will probably add power brakes and use a 2 circuit brake cylinder instead of original for safety.

I never worked on an A-body before, just E-bodies. There is parts I don't know where they are supposed to go on this car. So I'm gonna have questions.

First question!
I got this with the car, looks like an older replacement panel, but from what I can see it does not belong on this car.
Anyone knows what it is?

I heard that the rear window is not reproduced. Do not wanna break it, so I build a wood stand for it.

Now, the previous owner undercoated the car. I'm not sure yet but I'm thinking about cleaning it all off and use 2K epoxy and a top coat instead. Not a fan of sticky undercoating, and I'm not sure whats under the undercoating. It's a lot of work though....

That panel is the "floor" in the back. Don't see any need to remove undercoating unless you are planning a concours restoration. As you assemble front end use new parts, otherwise I would recommend just assemble the car with what you got and think about improvements later. We can help with your assembly.

That rear window seems to be everywhere in the US.
People have given them away for $20. Probably not the case in Sweden. But if you can find a decent shipping option for it, its plentiful here. Its good to have a spare.
Ive had one laying around in storage sheds and outside for years and I don't even own a Barracuda. I couldn't even give it away. Its not fragile, I guess the curve makes them stronger.
Good luck with the build, nice car!
Joe

Post more pictures of the gran coupe.
I got the 70 Barracuda in March, barnfind, did some quick fixes and a 45 min paint job, use it as my daily driver now. It's still a rat car. I will do a proper resto on it later. Before and after pict. Put Corvette Z06 seats in it. (The stock seats are great looking but needs resto), b/w houndtooth cloth inserts.

Thanks guys! I gotta look again to see where that panel fits. Great that the window is available in the US, nothing wrong with mine but just in cast I break it.... hard to get here. You are probably right about the undercoating Murray, it's ju me overthinking stuff.... we'll see :)

WOWSER
That looks like one heck of a project!! Fun times!

That semi gloss black looks awesome on that E, gonna do the top of my SC400 like that as the paint is checking bad. Fire away with early A questions, we got the experts here.

I think having a spare rear window is a little overrated... Take note on how thick that window is LOL.. I think if you dropped a sledgehammer from a 10-story building it would probably bounce off of it....

Oh no, that's the previous owners picture. I have big nice stands. And I always leave the jack under and try to put a few tires under also, just in case. had a 61 Impala fall over me when I was 17 and stupid, save by a jack stand on its side.

Thank god!! I’ve my 65 barracuda up on car ramps right now while I work on it. I’m too old and don’t heal well anymore

Engine mounts are different, which one goes on the driver side?
And what side of the engine tabs, in front or behind?
Not very clear in the Service Manual pictures.
And isn't there supposed to be 3 short bolts?
It came with a long and a short, e-bodies have 3 short ones.

Working on the engine bay, got Audrey started on painting. 2K epoxy primer.
I have a small sandblaster but its so messy so I just used brushes, those nylon brushes are great, removes paint well,
but dosen't dig in to the panels at all. But hard to get in to small corners.
We decided to leave the undercoating as is.

Nice job on the E-body, by the shifter it looks to be a 70.
I am also in the middle of a 70 Cuda in my garage.

Your wife is talented with the spray gun, it had to be rough using those thick leather gloves, I need to "feel the trigger on the gun" when I spray.
