2 barrel carb to 4 barrel carb linkage

i bent my 2bbl linkage to work with my 4bbl but the clamp on the throttle cable bracket does not clamp on the metal sleeve. cable istoo short and does not have enough diameter to clamp on the plastic sheathing.

can i just wrap tape around it to secure or is there a better way to clamp it that ya'll know about.

Personally, I would modify the bracket so that it camps on the metal sleeve.
If the throttle cable isn't supported (clamped) properly, it could bind the cable and cause an unsafe condition where your throttle sticks open.
Do it ASAP!
