Personally, I would modify the bracket so that it camps on the metal sleeve.
If the throttle cable isn't supported (clamped) properly, it could bind the cable and cause an unsafe condition where your throttle sticks open.
Do it ASAP!
ok thanks, guess i will bypass the cutting and welding and just buy the proper bracket from brewers. much easier to throw 50 bucks at it than spend time on it redesigning it and metalworking it. mo money mo money haha
