Any idea what this brass tag is for also I am guessing if I get a rebuild kit it should be for carter 0-2258 ? Any recommendations on a place to get a good kit?

The 4 digit # on the tag , the one with SA behind it, is your I.d. #. I cannot make out the second digit. The 0-2258 is not a good number.

No 2258 is a casting part number. Can’t make the tag out but it should contain 4 numbers followed by a S. That is the number you order a kit with.

I just rebuilt this exact same carb. I used a kit from Daytona Carburetors. Heads up, they will most likely need to know the diameter (and possibly length) of the accelerator pump. There’s apparently a few different iterations of accelerator pumps for this 2 bbl carb by Carter and taking it out (for measurements beforehand) might save you the grief of getting the wrong one in the mail.

Thanks you guys this helps

That "SA" number should be stamped on the baseplate somewhere, I believe. Then you'll have the whole number you need to order a rebuild kit.

Take actual GOOD pictures of it, instead of grossly crappy ones and send them to Daytona Carburetor. They will fix you up.

I think that’s actually a dent on the tag making it hard to read. I can’t even read it in person
