I am just running into situation myself. I have what looks like the stock oil fill dip stick but a big milodon pan.
Filling with oil to the proper spot on the dip stick ended up taking 8.5 quarts of oil but when I look up the oil pan on line, its only a 7 quart pan.
So what do you do, believe the stock dip stick, or stick to the oil pan capacity.
Surly all the oil you put into an engine does not exceed the actual oil pan height so based on that I'm only going to use 7 quarts of oil, plus a half quart for the oil filter and mark the stick accordingly.
