440/505 rpm limits

All depends on the parts used. A solid roller with a good valvetrain and good parts in the shortblock shouldn't have any problem with a 7000 rpm redline. You would need to get it on a dyno to know where the power peak is though. With standard port heads the power peak will be way lower than 7000 rpm. With MW heads you might still be making power at 7000 rpm depending on how big the cam is and how big the carb is. My 514 with the ported EZ heads would make 900 hp at 6900 rpm but that engine spent a lot of time on the dyno. I had at least a hundred dyno pulls on that engine combination.

900 ! I`m sure mwuays is not close to that ! Computer programs (not dyno) , says 761 after going to smaller cam for the fuel inj. map readings.
little larger than standard cnc ports,"not max wedge" , victor knock offs, flowed 354 @.600. raised my initial timing to 24 , 505 likes it .
Just figured out this morning , my rack and pinion is worn pretty bad too---------------always somethin !
Andy ,have u run the 1/4 in the duster yet ??
