I've got a '69 Dart bracket car with a 340 stroked to 431ci,solid roller,ported Eddy heads,12.2 compression,4.30 dana w/spool,Turbo Action trans w/brake,8" converter,ladder bar,coil overs,slicks.
I'm running a solid Moroso mount welded to the stock bracket on the driver's side, made my own torque strap type mount for driver's side as well. Running a stock rubber mount on the passenger's side.
I wanted to run a motor plate, but don't have the room to add one with my water pump setup on the car, plan to add one when I can change that.
Do you guy's think this will be strong enough?

Use steel on both sides or you'll chance breaking the ears off the block on the side with the steel mount Also. Replace your biscuit trans mount with a 73 and newer spool mount.

If you're racing the car then solid mounts both sides would be better ~ and then why the torque strap? Seems unnecessary once you've gone with solid mounts. If you're street driving the car regularly then stock mounts with the torque strap.

I'm using a spool mount on the trans.
The reason I have a rubber mount on the passenger side is
with my '69 Charger big block bracket car,I kept breaking tail shaft housings with
steel mounts on both sides.
Bob Mazzolini told me to go back to a rubber mount on the passenger side, never
broke another housing after doing that.
As far a the torque strap,I'm using it to control front to back movement.

thats not a torque strap --------------fore and aft limiter.

A vertical mounted torque strap is not going to limit the ping pong action, that takes a fore & aft limiter. I run a motor & mid plate on my car with a spool mount urethane biscuit mount with fore & after limiters on both sides, from a Neon.

So from what you guy's are saying,I should be able to run solid mounts on both sides
with a spool trans mount and not break tail shaft housings?

I have been running solid motor mounts (Moroso solid biscuits) on my car for many many years, no issues. I do use a poly mount on the trans.

Edit: The only issue I have had is I do have to check bolts (starter bolts specifically) and such once a year, to make sure they are still tight. The vibration does tend to back some bolts out once in a while.

Now that you mention this^^^^I may be screwed.

My car had the JUNK spool Mount K member, so I bought Poly everything for it. I just switched it out for the 67-72 K member and now I’m going back to solids like I ran for YEARS.

The one thing I never did was use a solid rear mount. It may be possible the Poly Mount is too stiff (similar to a solid Mount) and that could cause a tail shaft failure.

I need to think about that and make some phone calls.

Getting some great advice here as always.
I am using a poly spool mount on the trans.
I'll be getting back to work on the car this weekend,so look forward to more input.
