Rebuilt Edelbrock, yea or nay

Some carbs are just done for, if the throttle shafts are wore.
I had a guy in FL bush and rebuild my WO carb for my Willys, the sob now a few years later will not idle right, I am pretty sure the throttle shaft went back to crap.
Try to find any parts for a 70+ year old vehicle, most parts are worse than what you already have.
man I got a crazy jeep story. Had a new customer call me and he wants to get a motor and it's 46 Jeep given to him by his aunt when his uncle passed. He remembers it as a kid and said his uncle was quite eccentric. It had a straight 6 in it that someone put in it but it was totally Frozen. so of course this is when people get ahold of me. When they're at wit's end... Anyways I go get my best friend who just happens to have a 46 Jeep LOL we go look at his Jeep and sure enough his brother has the exact motor alternator to flywheel housing everything. Oil pan to carburetor ignition system with coil. Three hundred bucks! His dad had bolted it to a crate and got it running but he ended up putting a better motor in his Jeep. So this is been sitting a number of years but ran the last time. His name is Jeff the guy we're buying it from my best friend's brother his name is Jeff. This new customer of mine is kind of mind blown by how the Stars lined up. I'll be going there Saturday to pick up the motor with him and start getting it into the Jeep..
