So I’ve been trying to find a registry for Demons especially 340 cars. I see there is a Hamtrack registry but it’s kinda old and outdated and a lot of “must do’s” to make happen and donations required.

Anyone Have info on where to start if you wanted to start a read only info type website? Hackers are a big issue and bombard these types of sites to “play.”
Alaskan TA might be of help but not sure how to reach due to a shroud of secrecy. Lol!

Ive done some research in this area for ideas and trying to get first hand knowledge on how to properly set up and what software to use to stay ahead of the curve for hackers.
There is not a lot available for what’s needed like a basic boring site all a register needs to be.
Thanks- Syleng1

@Alaskan_TA owns the Hamtramck site. There is a treasure trove of info there and worth a donation.

Well, my email address is on on three of my websites.....

Outdated? It is a history site! LOL

When thinking about starting a free service, consider all the hours it takes. After your day job, evenings, weekends and holidays too.

No offense Alaskan- honestly I went to the site a few times even this am. Same info has been there for years. I have seen little movement. I’m not looking to take over or out gun. Also- maybe rather than re-invent the wheel I can help with yours. Anyhow it got your attention. Thank you for the understanding. Syleng1

Dude, it's a library.

If a library throws out the reference material what good it is?

The whole idea from the start was to make as much information viewable to all for as long as possible.

So far, it is working just fine. :)

Thanks for the laugh too, that was actually funny.

I'll tackle this one too......

It is a public library.

Did you have to become a member or pay to view or access the information?

No, you did not. ;-)

Dear Alaskan _TA

Look - I can tell by the number of posts you have replied to on this thread that I offended you. I’m sorry for “poking the bull,” on this one. I was not trying to recreate or take away what you obviously have worked really hard on. And it shows. My first instinct was to go silent for a while and let this drop. But I cannot. Again I am sorry if I insulted you or your site. When I first got this idea I tried to contact you via PM here I cannot due to your privacy settings. I honestly had no idea you owned that registry site even after all these years of being on this site.

I have been going to the Demon registry page and it has not changed in years. I see plenty of new cars popping up all around and wanted to create a site to get pictures and possibly the last 6 of the vin and where they are located. No where as in depth historically than your site. Finding fellow Demon owners is tough in New England due to the amount of rust they developed years ago. They just don’t exists or are fakes.

Anyhow, again I’m sorry publicly for making you feel like I was disrespecting you.
Also, letting you know I did not know you owned that site - I’m on two places- here and MoParts (barely) and no where have i ever seen your real name connected to Alaskan_ta other than now. I did not connect the two. It’s why I asked for your help cause you seemed to know a thing or two about this stuff. Lol!
Please accept my apology.

No apology needed, you have not offended me.

But it was obvious you had made some assumptions that were not accurate, so I tried to set the record straight.

On the sites that have the feature, I do set personal messages to 'off' & I will tell you why.

It is hard to keep up with my email and letters as it is, so having messages splattered all over the internet would be idiotic in my situation.

I hear from 100s of people a week. The record for emails was over 350 in a single day, and that was after I deleted the spammers and cold contact sales people.

So where able, I do have private messaging shut off. Here on this site there is a glitch with my system and the site so I can send PMs, but I never see any replies or new messages, so in affect, it is disabled anyway.

I have three web addresses and my contact email is on all of them, so I am not hard to find.....

Check out the GTS Registry www.gtsregistry.com Frank does a great job maintaining that site for over 700 67 to 69 Dodge Dart GTSs. After reading this thread, that sounds more like what you are trying to create.
