so I think most of you on here share the same car sickness that i have and am so proud of.

So any of you guys keep car parts in the house or I'm i the only weirdo?

I mean, I don't see any reason to waste good storage space under the bed when a couple of 4 speeds and a few rally dash clusters fit nice there. I have the compete rally dash for my 68 coronet on a shelf in the closet. Makes sense to me, out of the elements, and close by where I know where it is. Glass wrapped in towels and put in the back of the closet, how does that NOT make sense.

I'm thinking of restoring a grille for living room decor.

I'm not alone right??

LOL!!!!!!!!!!! I do NOT!!!!! But I see nothing wrong with what you are doing.......

I have car parts in the house... LOL. When I first got married, I had a 360 fresh from the machine shop in the living room, no garage and wanted to keep it from rusting the bored cylinder walls. My newly wed bride put a clothe over it and used it for a plant stand :D :D

I bought a 318-3 short block and we had to drag it out of the guys bedroom closet! My wife has a policy: no car parts inside..when she is home. I have the same policy with dirty clothes in the garage unless they are IN the washer. My gearhead friend has a Enderley Bug Catcher on a polished 2 quad tunnel ram on his dining room table as a centerpiece. Im not sure if that was just for the party or if it lives there full time. Knowing him, he probably eats in the kitchen...single. He's got a full Harley springer front end coming out of his wall above his bed too. He is a published Harley builder. Has a supercharged Shovelhead hard tail chopper that even the father from that chopper show took interest in at a Sturgis.

I stored my seats in the house while they were out. Figured it was the safest and cleanest place for them.
As for grills for decor.

This is a Model A grill I made into a chalk board. I have a set of AA truck headlights that will be hung on the wall on the side of it. Yeah it's not mopar, but I like old car stuff no matter who made it.

Picture 1; W2’s under my bed...
picture 2 & 3 My closet, on the right, cranks, cams, head set and W/P, scoop, carb parts.... etc...
On the left, MP/TR, standard & W2. Paint and posters...

Picture 4; Laundry room (Basement) 2 sets of heads, 6 Oil pans, 2 transmissions, 4 intake manifolds, 4 mufflers, a box of stuff and a lot of it... etc...

Last picture; 1 A body AMD trunk floor, chop saw, shop vac, 2 inter coolers. It’ll take a little while to clear it out but I’m in no rush.

Interior door panels under the guest bed, carpet in a box in the closet, couple sets of heads in the laundry room closet, cams in the laundry room cupboards, etc. My wife tells everyone that it's just the consequences of marrying a motorhead. Several years ago, before I had my shop I built an engine in the guest bedroom. Layed down some cardboard, a plastic tarp, a sheet of 1/2" plywood and then plastic sheeting. Provided a nice clean work area. The only issue was getting an assembled engine out of the bedroom, through the living room and out the back door!

I had a friend in Seattle that had an entire 71 Challenger R/T 440-6 4sp Shaker car in his spare bedroom (minus the body). They were all restored components just waiting for reassembly. It was either Sublime or Go-Green .... cant recall

Oh yeah...Louvre car

She got some guns on her. Better not piss her off. I like the 50s kitchen.

Had these in the spare room in the house, until they all sold.
But still have the high dollar race hemi parts back there, along with numerous other Mopar parts.

And many years ago, when i was in an apartment complex.

I keep my centerlines and torque thrust wheels in the house. I restored my charger dash , recovered my bucket seats and rear bench in the house. if I had the means, I'd have a 440 in every room

I have always kept parts in the house. Now I need to get my parts out of the house and into the motor.

Back before I built my shop, in our old house, I rebuilt a 727 in the laundry room. And a 360 in a room off the kitchen.

When I built our new house, it was 3 months old and I asked my wife to help me move the kitchen table. She asked what I was doing, and I said "I'm going to build a motor." It didn't surprise her. But, we did meet at a local 1/8th mile track, so she understands. 27 great years and counting, and still parts in the house.

Back in college, my second room mate had a friend that worked for Goodyear... His friend loaned us a defective drag racing slick mounted on a rim for the year... He ordered a piece of glass to be cut and laid the slick on it's side and put it on the tire and we used it for a coffee table next to the sofa in our room....

He was a Chevy guy with a first generation Camaro and used one of the hub caps from the Chevy for an ash tray on that table... Funny enough, the hub cap cleaned right up at the end of the year - no permanent burn marks....

I don't have any pictures of it....

actually no, that's what the garage, basement and sheds are for.. I will qualify that with that fact that my kids get into everything and I don't want them getting hurt or destroying anything.. I'm teaching them to respect boundaries and other peoples space and property, a concept they haven't fully grasped yet, so while they are all noses and unaware of consequences, the parts, cars and motorcycle are off limits.. sheds and garage are locked and the basement is still "a 'pooky place".. my daughter is still convinced that there are boogeymen-men down there  . My son gets it to some degree, but he's not careful enough yet.

I had a pair of Magnum heads downstairs for probably 10 years. I brought them up to take them to a swap meet (and never die) A few days in the garage and they flash rusted on the machine surfaces. Back to the basement they go!

New carpet for barracuda in basement. Did rebuild a 727 in mom’s basement 35 or so years ago. I have a lot of outbuildings. No need for parts in the house.

I have 2 dash pads and 2 tuff wheels in the master bedroom closet.

FL is not kind at all to plastic/foam left in the humidity.
