Car parts in the house

I had a pair of Magnum heads downstairs for probably 10 years. I brought them up to take them to a swap meet (and never die) A few days in the garage and they flash rusted on the machine surfaces. Back to the basement they go!

(Also @66fs who posted a second or so ago while I was replying..)

Exactly! Parts left to temp changes and humidity get ruined. The house is a stable environment. And that’s exactly why I have brand new and slightly used parts (well cleaned up) in the house. They are in exactly the same shape when I put them in there. Cast iron gets the hammer worst and first. Then it’s unprotected machined surface like a camshaft, lifters, etc...

So... I think Rani isn’t crazy..... I think she’s got it right... and yup, if your new and don’t know her, she is a car nut. Fits in here perfectly like the last puzzle piece.
It’s non car people’s that don’t get it. They think your nutz!
