Coke, an experiment

When I was young I drank a lot of milk. When I got to Navy electronics tech "A" school at Treasure Island, San Francisco, they gave us all kinds of lectures, on liberty, forbidden places, and "other things." One lecture made it sound like milk was bad for us. "We are old enough" we don't need the calcium and bla bla bla. The water in SF tasted like ****. I raised my hand and asked, "Is SF water supposed to be better for us?" He did not have an answer.

Actually, the Navy, in a way did cure me from drinking milk. The "cows" in the chow hall were never cold enough. I hate warm milk. When I ended up at NAS Miramar, spring of '70, it turns out they had the worst chow hall of any place I'd been. As soon as I was "rated" I got "commuted rats" and ate elsewhere most of the time.
No ****? The chow hall at Mare Island (DS A and C School) was good. Gained back all the weight I lost in boot camp. Now that food sucked.
