Don't need it but who knows...70's vintage complete 360 carb to pan...what would YOU pay?

what's it worth.......
  • If I'm buying, 475.00
  • If I'm selling, 80 bucks.
  • What would I pay?? If I could here it run and it ran good, 300.00. If I bought it as a complete core that turned over, 150.00

Looks like a truck engine, center dump exhaust manifolds and rear sump oil pan.

Sure Shoot . . Broken water jacket exhaust studs passenger's side.

Barret Jackson price $1500.00
Real time real world price $500- if it can prove it runs. If not $300.00
My humble opinion

When I look at an engine like that....I appreciate the value that it has as a 'complete' engine. But, I also recognize that if I were to actually use it, I'd end up replacing 80% of the parts anyway....so the value drops.

As others have said, if I were selling it, it would take me 8 months to find anyone who'd pay $75 in food stamps for it and I'd have to deliver it because they'd be too lame to own or borrow a truck. I'd have to take my engine hoist to unload it, too.

If I were buying it, I'd pay $1500, cash, and still smell the seller for 3 days afterwards. I'd also have to drive down some muddy-*** road, get bit by 200 mosquitoes, and get a speeding ticket on the way home.

If it were closer to me, I'd offer 150 because you never know what is inside until you open it up.

I bought one just like that a couple of years ago for $250. Still had to rebuild it. So yea, it's a core.

Last 360 I bought was $150. It was complete, had an edelbrock performer intake, MP valve covers and air cleaner, holley 650, correct a body mounts and came with a 360 car pan and pickup. It was a steal, I sold the intake, valve covers and air cleaner for $500. So now I have a complete 360 long block to build and $350 in my pocket.

It's home!

Now to put it to bed without messing with it... might just oil the cylinders and give the bores a look see with my bore scope...

It's a '77 BTW.

Good deal.
I bought a 75 360 a year ago from a guy outside Watertown, but paid $360 for it,out of a Warlock truck. Was oil coated like yours. First thing I did was power wash the whole shabang.
Dave

Powerwashing is kinda risky when you don't take it apart right after. Good chance of water entering where its not supposed to...

picked up a 360 from a 1977 motor home for $175 got it home checked build date and was an 87 motor then found the rebuild tag from a company in MI that rebuilt it popped a valve cover looked brand new then took a head off no carbon ridge nice hone in it I got lucky stuck a .508 cam in it rpm intake 750 holley put in my Duster and ran mid 13's out of gate it's the motor in the 13 sec thread.

I PAID 200.00 FOR mine , but i'd pay 150 for the A/C parts and pulleys

What value if it is a 89-93 360 roller block though?
I'm curious about this as well. I don't need it at the moment but have been on the prowl for a 360 block for future stroker build. Mostly seeing 70's engines for $300-$350. Might have a line on a 92 LA roller block that is in that range but has more hoops to jump through to get. If I'm going to run a HFT cam is the roller block worth the effort? If I were to run a hydraulic roller, it would be with the stock lifter gear. How much lift and spring can the stock gear handle? Motor will be mostly street with some road course and auto-X, not much drag racing so I would think it will stay under .600 lift with ProMaxx 171 heads

You need to hunt some better junk yards.... those prices are too high. You are buying a core engine.

Stock valve train can handle .450 lift. My full bore dirt track motor barely breaks the .600 lift mark.

Try Jack's Auto Salvage he's in Waukesha county. Hilltop in Wausau or Zebs in Tigerton are a hike but they may have what you need. Or try Al's Auto Salvage on Hwy 45 south of Hwy 36.
