What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

I finally got it back together. I blew a head gasket after 500-1000 miles. Changing them out required removing the steering column and then right torsion bar and motor mount. While I was at it I found a faulty spark plug wire that was burned and shorting out. During re-assembly I dropped the motor on the oil pan and bent the oil pickup cracking it and had to pull the pan and replace that. In case anyone is curious, when replacing the headers you have to Jack the motor to the opposite side. The motor mount was stuck. Stupid me took a long bar and a hammer to “tap” the bolt so that it lined up with the slot. BAM it fell into place denting the oil pan. Stupid as stupid gets. At least I cought it after startup a few seconds that there was no oil pressure on the gauge. Removing the distributor and trying to prime didn’t work so,,,, off with the pan.

While I was fixing my errors, I got a new trick flow intake and oil dipstick. They look good to me. Now I have to cut a hole in the hood to fit the air cleaner. With the torker2 I could make it work but very constricted.

Much to learn about this passion and hobby. D024B23A-D92C-4F5C-9E53-C7F839BF63C5.jpeg7C86781B-8AA3-401F-8248-7567FA175CDF.jpeg
