That's the difference between Canada and the U.S. Not everyone has a gun here including me and don't want one either. I think to own and carry a gun like that 17 yr olds aren't responsible enough to have one but then again some 21 yr olds aren't either. One question I do have though did the cops THINK or KNOW he had a weapon in the SUV or did they plant it to cover their butts? Happens every day.
If it is ok to send an 18 year old to war by way of draft then why should he not be able to purchase and carry without being in the service.
