I have a 96 dakota that started life with a 3.9l v6 magnum.

I have a stroked 340 (418) with w5 heads and an a833 that I plan to swap from the dart into the dakota.
Dart will be getting a bb stroker.

What engine mounts are available for that swap? Or am I up to fabbing my own now?

V8 in a Dakota started in 1991 (1989 in Shelby's IIRC)

...but I can't answer the OP's question.

If you can locate a set of the '89-'91 V8 mounts (they were still LAs in those years), you SHOULD be good to go- but I would score the frame half of the mounts as well as the block half to be on the safe side in case they changed the frame half when they went to Magnums like your '96 had...

Call these guys. Maybe they can help.

Did not think of that.

Rear sump, like the big trucks; but it's a smaller sump. I guess you could use the full-size pan, but it may need to be cut & welded a bit.

Im swapping a 5.9 magnum into a 87.... So I know a little about dakota swaps..... Just wanted to point out a few things, and if you need any pictures let me know.
1. 4wd and 2 wd are different mounts. My 87 is 4wd, so if any pictures help, please ask.
2. 87 and up (la style) use the same side mounts as a magnum.
3. The dakota and ram (magnum) oil pan are basically the same, both rear sump, but the ram is deeper. I have pictures showing side by side if needed.

Hopefully you will post pictures as you progress with the swap. Look forward to watching.
FWIW on another site I belong to, there is a 87 that the owner put a 6.1 hemi in. If interested, I can pm a link.
