because the mount much more inboard than the stock K frame .if they were short like a stock lower the thing would ride like a covered wagon on the Oregon Trail .when you use a longer arm you can use a stiffer shock and spring , get the handling you want but not have it ride like a 1942 ford truck !!!! i have the same suspension on all five of my mopars . soon to be my 71 gen 3 supercharged 426 hemi cuda . no problems , rids=es and handles like a dream a little heavier than Alterk tion or magnum force because Carl uses 1/4 steel in the k member .
