So we put some magnum heads on an la 318 that we stroked out. With that we decided to adapt the factory kickdown linkage. I'll post some pictures of it in a bit
Personally, I would modify the bracket so that it camps on the metal sleeve.i bent my 2bbl linkage to work with my 4bbl but the clamp on the throttle cable bracket does not clamp on the metal sleeve. cable istoo short and does not have enough diameter to clamp on the plastic sheathing.
can i just wrap tape around it to secure or is there a better way to clamp it that ya'll know about.

If the throttle cable isn't supported (clamped) properly, it could bind the cable and cause an unsafe condition where your throttle sticks open.
Do it ASAP!
ok thanks, guess i will bypass the cutting and welding and just buy the proper bracket from brewers. much easier to throw 50 bucks at it than spend time on it redesigning it and metalworking it. mo money mo money haha
just add a spacer from the carb to the end of the cable..... you can see it on this carb set upi bent my 2bbl linkage to work with my 4bbl but the clamp on the throttle cable bracket does not clamp on the metal sleeve. cable istoo short and does not have enough diameter to clamp on the plastic sheathing.

Looks fine to me. I'd have probably slid the cable up to eliminate 1 link, but should work fine. Two throttle springs of course. Yours is a stick shift I assume? I don't see kickdown linkage..ok here was my solution. chain links that were $4 at the hardware store.
does it look safe ???

Wow...Just Wow.
All the correct parts are available for less than $100.
Why go through all the trouble and money to stroke out a motor, only to get chincy on the little things. Where's the shake my head button ?

IF they made "chain links" for this conversion, most would recommend it for price and simplicity. But for heaven's sake, don't use any ingenuity yourself... LOL.i guess when you spend 4 dollars that you really dont have you will understand why i went this route. i am tapped out on building this from bare sheet metal and i am just trying to get it running at this point.
yes 4 speed

If you have the 2bbl bracket, the cable won't reach without extending the end like he showed.

It's only because yours is an example of the right way to do it!Good God, Can you stop with my motor already ?
i was looking on summit for a dual throttle return springs and the Mopar Performance kit only has one spring. hmmm
Mopar Performance Return Spring Brackets P4510646
where did you buy the springs on the hemi orange small block in the picture posted in post # 16
Google 340 throttle return spring.
