I remember the Tornado tires, IIRC they were sold at Canadian Tire, Buddy had a pair of L60-15s on aluminum slots on the back of his 68 Cutlass when we were 16, bald as a billiard ball, kept driving on them cause he had no money to replace 'em. Eventually the car had a wiring fire and that was the end of it.

Those Tornados aren't in bad shape, look new, same as the Gillette.
Guy swears he has the matching wheel/Gillette, but we couldn't find it.
I'm sure it's gone, but I might go back.

Is this like "This Old House"? I've always loved the hard sharp edges on bias ply tires.

Sharp edges are great, but for some reason breaking the bead on that Wide Track broke me.

Coldwarmotors is where I got the idea. For those who haven't seen the 60 Plymouth series, you're missing out. Guy does some fantastic fabrication.

Any other old tires out there?

That Gillette is marked "H60-14". It looks insanely wide for an "H"! I'd like to see what an L60 made by them looks like!

I had a pair of Gillette L60x15, on a pair of 15x8 ansen five spokes. The wouldn't fit on anything I had at the time, too little back space on the wheels.
And my memory of them was that the didn't look as wide as those H60x14, and mine were hard as a rock! My buddy had them on a jacked up 57 Chevy with a very warm 283, and he could spin em all the way thru 2nd gear with a four speed. Maybe the 5.13 gear had something to do with that though.

Yep, I had a pair of M60x14s on a box nova with radiused wheelwells, way back when. I don't remember the brand. The only bigger (except for full on race tires) were the N50x15. Google doesn't even know either of those tire sizes ever existed!
I sold Mickey Thompson's back in the day. Camaro's were about the only car that could handle them and even they looked stupid.

This old table.
It took a wire wheel on a grinder and an air tool with a scotch pad to clean it.
I always wanted to make a high small table out of a wheel, but never thought about a giant tire on the floor.
I don't understand how these tires are so old and so new.
