it is the rear package tray that goes on the floor pan behind the rear seat. First thing that goes on the rear floor of the car.

So that panel goes on top of the spare wheel compartment, it's not welded in then. Is it some kind of hinge or so that holds it? If there is spare wheel under it...
I have another dumb question
, there is only one tank right?(I got 2 tanks with the car, different shapes).

It pretty much goes over the white part of the floor that you can see through the trunk. It's screwed in and carpet goes on top, which has stainless steel trim on 3 sides and the trunk panel on the back.

No, it's not above the spare wheel. The panel stops where the spare wheel well starts. Look at where the chrome fuel filler goes through in the top right corner - there's a cutout in the panel

Yeah, that's the vertical panel you see in the picture. It's between the spare tire well/ trunk and the panel in question. The piano hinge on that wooden panel actually bolts through the panel in question. I hope that clarifies that.

Yep, got it now! I see your'e from L.A. My wife is born and raised in L.A, we lived in the Valley for 10 years, moved back here in -97. I still work there a lot though Mostly remote.

Sandblasted and put 2k primer on the k-frame, gotta say that this k-frame is way better welded then on my e-bodies, those are just spot welded and rattle when you hit them with a hammer, this one is tight!

I'm actually not from L.A. - I was born in Chicago, IL, but grew up in Germany. So kinds the opposite from your cross-Atlantic move, haha. Where in the Valley did you live? I'm in Eagle Rock currently and before lived all over North East L.A. - Highland Park, Echo Park, Silver Lake and East Hollywood.

Started out living in Hollywood, went to school there, then we moved to Studio City, then Glendale for a year and then Toluca Lake before we moved to Sweden. Was gonna come over for SEMA this year but Corona stopped that plan...

Engine and transmission together again, last time was 40 years ago,
I built the stand for my e-bodies, but it fits this one also, gonna weld up an adjustable tranny support.
-65 904 Tranny, not used to the wires, my newer transmissions have rods.
I can feel the gear change switch if I move the front wire but what is the rear wire for?
The one with tape on.

Aha, thanks! Then, if I wanna run the engine before I hook the wires up to the shifter, does it matter what position
the front wire is in if I put the rear wire in park? Was thinking of hooking up the radiator and running it on the stand before I put it in the car.
I think you will have to ground the terminal for the neutral safety switch. Then is will start in gear. I would start it in Park or Neutral

Grinding weld on some older rust repairs, done years ago by someone. Now, on the driver side there is 3 holes in the wheel well, not on the passenger side. And right in a spot thats been replaced. I wonder if these are for something, or did they just use a piece with holes in it?

Those holes are for the rear seat hinge.

And they should actually be studs and on both sides rather than bolt holes. Wagons and Barracudas have the exact same Location studs - just different hinges for each. That’s why I can use the Barracuda rear fold down seat with Barracuda hinges in my wagon to sedan delivery conversion.

Now it's gonna sit here for a while, away from the bad weather, hopefully I have time for some small fixes on the body soon, I hope to paint if before next summer.
