How do I make my Milodon Gear Drive NOISY?

13000 PART NUMBER.
I thought it was going to be a noisy gear drive.
Does anyone know how to turn this SILENT GEAR DRIVE into a NOISY GEAR DRIVE?
Can get thru to Milodon, being the weekend.
Wondering if they have parts I can buy to convert it...or maybe there is another way.

Any help appreciated.

Record a noisy gear drive, install good stereo in car, play recording of noisy gear drive real loud when you drive...

On the noisy drives, you can lap the gears in with lapping compound to make them quite, but I don't think there's anything you can do to a quiet set to make them loud. Short of replacing them with a loud set.

When a quality gear drive such as yours is installed correctly, it won’t make any noise.

That certainly is a work of art to my eyes, and, AFAIK, there is no way to make it noisy other than install it wrong.

If you had that gear drive on a SBM, most Fords I can think of, a Pontiac (don’t know why anyone would have a Pontiac...no offense to my buddy Josh should he somehow read this) or anything else with a cast aluminum valve cover, no one even knows it’s there!

I tell people all the time I have a GD on all my junk, and then they call me a liar.

As far as I know, that's the only way. I wasn't aware Milodon had a noisy and quiet set. I thought they were all noisy. They are straight cut gears as far as I know. Aren't yours straight cut? The honest to goodness quiet sets have angle cut gears and I wasn't aware Milodon made any like that.

Milodon makes only one set of gears..AFAIK. I’ve never seen any other gears available.

They have no noisy gear sets. And I’m not sure you can make them noisy other than I have posted.

flatten a few teeth, that with make it noisy. lol
BTW noisy gear drives don't skeer me. lol neither does a blower whine. lol

This is what I was told, so I ordered...and the ***** is SILENT.
Really infuriates me.

You will win a ton of races with a noisy gear drive...trust me. The red lights just PILE UP.
Not everybody is a veteran Racer.

I can't think of a thing that might make it noisy.....unless you do like dummy up there said and install it wrong. And you wouldn't want to do that. You certainly don't want to break anything.

I'm picturing the old "Slick 50" commercial where they drained the oil out of a SB Mopar LOLOL

If you make it so that it's noisy it's also going to make your timing less accurate??

I thought this was a joke at first. The CAT idler gear drives came in noisy GD440N and not so noisy GD440 if I remember correctly. I think the way the dual idler gears were cut made them louder, ie straight cut and slightly beveled. But the better quality single idler Milodons (with no backlash) are just machined better so the gear mesh noise is reduced. Thats why one is $50 and the Milodon is $350. But if you want a noisy one, just get a $50 dual idler style.
Return Big Block MOPAR 440 Dual Idler Timing Gear Drive Set Kit for sale online | eBay The idler backlash will rock back and forth .050 and you can definantly hear them. Bro had a Cleveland with a PJ gear drive and it was audible. Run solid core wires and turn up the AM radio for some variable engine whine, new Fords pipe in fake engine noise through the stereo for that muscle car sound....no joke. Ford admits to pumping fake engine noises through Mustang speakers to make cars sound better

Have your girl friend in the passenger seat, then you can hear it whine...

Oh wait, that won't be the gear drive that's whining....

I was really glad when the noisy Pete Jackson gear drives finally went out of production...
Seems like every wanna-be racer ego head in the 80's were running one of those..
No offense to the OP... I'm sure your reasons are purely nostalgic ...
