Edelbrock 7577 question

In short, how is everyone hooking up the heater hose? I have two, 1/8 pipe thread holes, and one 3/8 hole, but it is under the accessory bracket. I could drill out one of the 1/8 holes and tap for the heater hose, but would like to used it for a fan sensor. The other 1/8 hole would be for the temp sensor.

Now, what is your advise on the heater hose hookup, or would it only apply if it was a big block? :poke:

Sorry, not a Magnum guy. My 383 with DP4B Edelbrock has no heater hose hook ups. They're above the water pump housing.
 
OK, magnum, and the 87 LA I have, are both on the intake....
Im new to mopars being modded....
Something that surprised me, the heads have no tapped holes for sensors, etc. Two drain plugs in the block, but that is all I see.

I appreciate the mods, but at this stage of my life, rather keep it simple.

My magnum uses the 3/8s hole with a brass fitting, and the stock la water pump second fitting, since you are using the serpentine style belt that might be challenging.
 
Drill and tap the far passenger 1/8 hole (or either to your liking). Plug the one under your bracket. May have to place your fan sensor into one of those add-on inline bungs or a block for that to screw into.
 
The acc. bracket covers the one large tapped hole that I closed off with a female plug slightly counter sunk. I the. Used one of the other passenger side water ports. I personally didn’t need to drill and tap. I did drill and tap for the stock water temp sender.

If you personally didn't drill and tap the 1/8" npt hole you used for the 3/8" heater hose nipple, who personally tapped it? Trying to understand what you did, I'm confused by what you said.
 
Well, I don’t know what to tell you there buddy. I purchased the manifold new, used it for a long time and o my bad to drill and tap for the temp sender.

Rumblefish 360, no accuasations intended, your pic shows exactly what I suggested to 93ragtop, and I'll have to set mine up the same. Did your intake come new with the hose nipple hole that you are using alredy at 3/8"? Ours is 1/8 at that far passenger position. You said you didn't have to drill and tap that one? But you did have to drill and tap for stock temp sending unit? Sorry for the confusion. Pic of my new 7577.

I am sorry to say I traded the intake for an intake with a member here. Looking at your picture, the threaded hole on the right I didn’t touch. Where the temp sender is, I drilled and tapped. I know this is accurate since I do not have a tap for the heater hose.

I don’t know what else to say.
 
I am not sure why Edelbrock did that, but when Hughes gets their proprietary version of that Edelbrock Manifold Hughes specified different fitting locations to closely match the factory Magnum accessories, since it was intended for those Magnum truck applications. If anyone is going to fuel injection with Magnum intake manifold bolt pattern and running Magnum AC compressor bracket and location, the Hughes FI manifold is the best choice. here is a picture for heater hose and temp sensor location comparison. Note: it also makes me wonder if occasionally a regular 7577 goes out the door drilled differently.

What I ended up doing was cut a spot out of the AC bracket, and in that hole, I mounted the Cooling fan sensor. The middle hole, I tapped for the heater hose, and the last hole, (on the passenger side) I will use for the temp. sensor.
Below is a picture.... there is actually more clearance between the cooling fan sensor and the AC compressor then what appears.

May not be the only way, it's the way I will do it. Nothing wrong with 93ragtops mod. Should work great. Hughes sells the throttle body for that intake, injectors and all don't they Bobzilla? What do you do on the control, stock ECM with re-program? or what's your plan?

Must have come from the factory that way, heater hose already sized at that position like you say. I was confused because mine came differently (like 93ragtop's).

Hughes sells that intake as a kit and includes an adapter to mount the factory two barrel Magnum throttle body. Injectors are just chosen for application. Highly modified would need larger injectors and a calibration to run it all.
Completely stock except intake can run stock injectors and calibration to start with, but a proper combination and new calibration will be much better.
 
i have an intake i bought from kmj on ebay. i was looking at them again last nite as i might need another 1 and they are only 199.00. but there is no bypass hole under the t-stat hole. i emailed them and asked if that was a mistake or if that is why the price is so cheap. not heard back yet. i bought my other one last year but just put it on shelf. will need to inspect it. here we go.
