The sheet metal guy did a great job. He made a jig to bend flat metal to the shape of the metal frame on the bottom. He shaped and welded it over the weak pieces, removing the absolutely rotten ones. Then he drilled all the holes, made the notches and made sure all the structural parts anchored correctly. The welds look better than in the photos.
