What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Tires arrived and got the new DEMON wheels for the Charger ordered. Yeah, the Barracuda is kinda being pushed to the back burner.

Drove it to the Steak & Shake cruise-in... for once it wasn't in the 90's with matching humidity. But it died at a stoplight a couple blocks away. It finally caught and I was able to drive it to the parking lot before it quit again. Figured I was out of gas so I borrowed an empty can, walked to nearby station, and put a couple gallons in it. Then it was flooded (hot engine, hot weather and cheap gasoline). Finally got it going, idled for a while, shut it off and checked out the hot rods.
On the way home I filled the cell (only took 6 gals after the 2, and it's a 10 gal capacity). It felt like it was laying over under brisk acceleration... got to my driveway and it died again! Managed to get it in the garage before it quit for good.
I suspect an obstruction like a loose chunk of foam or other foreign body is intermittently blocking the fuel cell outlet... that's going to be fun to fix with a now-full tank.

My Kid got the new fan and shroud mounted on the Dart. The fan was intended for mounting to the outside of the shroud but there was not enough clearance. He modified the design so the fan could be mounted to the shroud from the radiator side. I think it came out good.

Time to replace all those missing emblems. First was the Plymouth emblem on the hood. I was very nervous to go drilling into paint, luckily a transfer punch knocked out the Bondo perfectly!! Way easier than I was expecting.

Worked on stripping the remaining old paint. Got the driver door jamb and rocker panel done. Working own the cowl panel. I have the flat parts done, need to drop the wiper shafts and get those pockets done along with the vent slots. I’ve got maybe 20% of the slots done... there has to be a better way than just sanding them. It’s taking forever and my fingers are trashed.

Tomorrow I hope to finish the cowl, get the passenger door jamb and rocker done, and prime those areas.

This may be common knowledge, but I decided to shine a light from inside the trunk so I could get it perfectly aligned with the side marker.
