Can a 78 Volare cruise control setup work in a 74 duster?

You can rig up one for a clutch pedal too that shuts it off when the clutch pedal pressed. My 94 chevy pickup is wired that way.

I think the one I used was from a later Dakota. Got it working and then the switch went bad. Replaced it with a new one and had other issues crop up so haven’t tested it to make sure my setup isn’t the issue and not the switch.
