Hello,
This forum has helped me all along the way with this project. I'm thinkin bout pulling the trigger on new leaf springs for my 69 Dart Custom. Would like a 3" lift. Looking at Eaton Detroit Springs. Much of the front end is new so an allingment is in the future as well. Any words of wisdom or cautions from the experts??

3" is pretty aggressive over what you have. Just sayin'

Bigger tires 255/60-15's make a difference without much lift. Second picture is level ground.

another 3" over your car now will be unsafe to drive in some situations.Return it to stock height.
...but you didn't want to hear that.

I tried to go as large as I could in the back. Tried 245's on a 4" backspace...not enough fender clearance. Settled on 225's.
And to the contrary...I want to hear all opinions and considerations. I lifed it 3" with jack stands and liked the gait. Not married to it for sure...but liked it. I'm of the 70's generation when I started driving so it brings me back to the day. I do know I prefer some lift to the stock height.
I really appreciate all feed back. This forum has talked me out of so many potential

My first car was a 65 mustang. 1973ish. Had it jacked up so high in the back my dad would say " you must get real good gas mileage cause you're going down hill all the time."

It is your car, get what you want. Mine sits over the tires in the back. Don’t know if Dart and cuda fenderwells are the same though.

Barracudas have the same inner and outer wheel houses as dusters and demon/dart sport models. The garden variety dart and scamp use the same inners, but low cut outers, and dont seem to have as much room width wise.

This may sound strange but I know its true from experience (more than once), lifting the rear that high will make you car steer loose and wander over 45mph, you will have to get the ft. caster readjusted to compensate for the new ride angle of the chassis.

Just my humble opinion.

put a set of 70’s air jackers in the back. Adjust the air to the height you like. Bring a compressor. Long drive drop the pressure and when you get to where you’re going- pump, pump pump it up man!

You can pump them up with a bicycle tire pump.
