What I don’t get, is in NY, more and more stores have gone to scanning the id. They don’t even look at it. I had a cashier tell me to use my wife’s ID as long as she could scan it. I saw a man in his 60’s get ID’d for 2 cans of beer today at the supermarket. I assumed when they started scanning the id it was some sort of data collection. Like if the insurance company was getting the info from purchases they would charge more if you were buying marlboros and beer than if not. All speculation of course
