360 value...

I'm curious about this as well. I don't need it at the moment but have been on the prowl for a 360 block for future stroker build. Mostly seeing 70's engines for $300-$350. Might have a line on a 92 LA roller block that is in that range but has more hoops to jump through to get. If I'm going to run a HFT cam is the roller block worth the effort? If I were to run a hydraulic roller, it would be with the stock lifter gear. How much lift and spring can the stock gear handle? Motor will be mostly street with some road course and auto-X, not much drag racing so I would think it will stay under .600 lift with ProMaxx 171 heads
You need to hunt some better junk yards.... those prices are too high. You are buying a core engine.

Stock valve train can handle .450 lift. My full bore dirt track motor barely breaks the .600 lift mark.

Try Jack's Auto Salvage he's in Waukesha county. Hilltop in Wausau or Zebs in Tigerton are a hike but they may have what you need. Or try Al's Auto Salvage on Hwy 45 south of Hwy 36.
