2) MY 1966 intake manifold has a tapped hole on the passenger side in front of the choke, did the factory use this hole to secure anything (see casting boss in foto #3 which has some old blue paint on top).

The choke is held in by a tab that goes in one hole and a bolt that goes in the other... Put the tab in the opposite the threaded hole, then rock it into position and put the bolt in the threaded hole on the other side... The choke only uses one bolt to hold it in...
