Can you powder coat something like that? There is a "chrome" powder that is somewhat convincing. As long as the powder doesn't get too thick and inhibit the sliding of the ash tray door.
Mine is pitted way worse then that. I haven't decided what to do yet either.
I think theres some sort of filler that works with powder coating. Leanna the mistress of powdercoating would know. Since it's mostly hidden, and I am planning on modifying it, I am considering cheaper options.
