I thot all r/blocks had the pad on the front of the block, by the dist. hole , and low decks ,(383-400`s do not !! EASIEST WAY TO TELL-----------

Don’t think anyone was having difficulty determining if it was a B or RB motor, I think the question was why doesn’t the casting number show up anywhere. I didn’t find much info despite the comment that info was out there, much like the OP (who started the thread 2 years ago).

My only add to the info in this thread was that (assuming I wasn’t fed a lie about the motor I bought), this odd casting number block did in fact come in cars as well. Not just some industrial application.

If you want the number added to a list then send a picture of your block to 440Source so he can add it to the list that he keeps on his website.

Never even crossed my mind to do that.

Not really a huge deal to me, probably not going to keep the motor since the car I was going to put it in is no longer mine.

Just wanted to add a data point that one did come out of a car.

Not many 400's found in those Road Runner's most were 360 cars.
